Many thanks to you Platt, I'm overwhelmed but return the
compliments. Your Christmas Card from long ago, a water-color of
a steam locomotive-pulled train passing a snow-clad farm is a
dear possession of mine, I get downright sentimental over it. BTW
I found the said "How to paint", it was Henry Gasser's from 1966.
He was born in 1909 and died in 1981, was member of the
National Academy and lived in New Jersey Check this address:

Greetings,
I have seen Platt's paintings too. Wonderful landscapes! Not long
ago a painting of a tree, perhaps a weeping willow, near a lake. I
looked for it yesterday, but it's gone. I lost a whole bunch of pics
when my computer crashed a while back. Anyway, it was very beautiful.
What I find wonderful is on youtube you can watch artists actually
paint. This is fascinating to me because I so love the process of
painting, the choices, changes, etc. Did you ever watch The Mystery
of Picasso? Absolutely fascinating! Even if you are not a fan of
Picasso, to watch him work is amazing.
