Paco:
With regard to MoQ: Cannot MoQ broaden its concept of science to include
mystical/transpersonal ?experience
as legitimate subject of inquiry? I personally think mystical/transpersonal
experience of Buddha, Sanga and Dharma, Nada y Todo, or of undefined God in
the practice of meditation-contemplation is of high quality, higher than
SOM. I believe the intellect can go beyond reason to apprehend a world
closed to reason?and scientistic science.

Andre:
Hi Paco, sorry for my late response, I certainly think the MoQ allows for
this and I further sense that Pirsig himself has indicated this when he
'tackled' the 'causation' platypus by attributing the idea of 'preference'
to particles to do what they do.
I know that some here on the Discuss consider this absolute rubbish but I
like the idea of 'choice' applied at this level. I may come across as very
naive and childlike regarding this idea but it has added immensely to my
appreciation and sense of wonder at this wonderful, magical mystery tour of
a creation.Particles prefer to do what they do....MAGIC!
I just mentioned to Marsha as well that science, hopefully will reach a
level where it is sensitised enough to include these experiences as
ligitimate subjects of inquiry. And, of course many have already taken place
under the guise of enquiring into 'paranormal' phenomena.
I am not sure if 'mainstream' science takes this seriously ...yet.

For what it is worth
