[Ham] Ron's misuse of a biblical quotation in defense of nihilism is sure to win the hearts of believers like Michael. Ron: As of yet, I have not seen an adequate defense much less a valid arguement from you defending your Essentialism from the charge of being nihilistic. In fact your use of the term may of had weight 50 yrs ago or so, but now, Its just a tired old chestnut. Ham, you believe in a god, plain and simple stop denying it. It is the center of your entire theosophy, I say theosophy because it approaches god philosophically, but call it for what it is and stop trying to pass it off as a metaphysic based in the autonomy of the individual. For if man has a role in the universe and needs to know it in order to find meaning, then man is NOT an autonomous agent. He has a purpose that has been provided by a source. Man therefore is not free. You may say he has choice, either to follow his perscibed meaning or not. I say this is not freedom to define ones own purpose and happiness this is a choice of either following a particular way or not. Its almost as if you are trying to trick people into a belief in a God. I find this most disingenuose.
