While I can be happy that Michael experiences joy, for the world
needs more joy, I do not accept theism as responsible any more than
politics is responsible, or rubbing the Buddha's belly is
responsible. If Michael personally wants to call his experience God
or theism, I have no interest. Like I don't care if he wears briefs
or boxers. Who cares! Introducing a theism or God stripped of
centuries of meaning and connotation is gibberish and, as RMP says, "evil".
God and theism represent a social institution, a social-level
static-pattern-of-value, and if you look at history, an institution
of badness. COMPASSION, LOVE and BEAUTY are dependent on neither.
