Michael:

I'm here because what I understood of MoQ explained a lot to me that had not
made sense before. Problem is, the more I try to get a hold on MoQ, the more
it becomes a roadblock to my understanding.

Andre:

Hi Michael. I am not sure what understanding you have to which the MoQ is a
'roadblock'.

I think it is fair to say that all of us regard the arguments/insights of
Pirsig a great challenge to conventional (SOM) thinking and reasoning. It is
SOM shattering indeed and reintegrating the shattered pieces is an
activity which remains bewildering and immensely gratifying.
Upon reading Pirsig (ZMM) for the 2nd time I had a feeling I had arrived
home and the house was constructed with Lila. There were bits I recognised
as long lost 'old friends' and some bits were very new but blending in and
dynamic.
This discuss is still working on the house, some are still working on the
foundations and we haven't even started on the decorations yet.
Sometimes, following this Discuss, the house loses its 'homeliness'
especially when I do not recognise Pirsig as the architect. That's when a
lot of SOM concepts and definitions and lines of reasoning are used to claim
or disclaim a statement or argument, or even worse, appear to go straight
against the intentions of RMP.
But this is also fine. Pirsig would agree with this I am sure. It is through
debate of differing points of view/ interpretations and understandings that
quality insights are reached so long as these are aimed at making this world
a better place to live in.
Pirsig has created a rough sketch of a place with plenty of windows and
loads of nookies and crannies wherein one can play to one's hearts' delight.
Let's enjoy it to the full.

For what it is worth
