[Willblake2]
Science is a useful reality which can be used on a day to day basis. I
believe MoQ can be used in the same way. But keep in mind that all of it is
simply a convention for communication and interaction. In many ways trying
to get outside of these conventions, by using the conventions, is like a
finger trying to point at itself, or the eyes trying to see themselves
(without mirrors, of course) to paraphrase the great communicator Alan
Watts.

[Krimel]
But isn't it exactly like fingers and eyes pointing and looking? Who says
mirrors are not allowed? Mirrors provide a whole new way of looking at the
world and require a high order of conceptual capability to use. Ten thousand
years ago a common cosmetics compact would fetch the price of a farm.
Mirrors allow us to look into our own eyes and to point directly at
ourselves. We use them to experience recursion directly. We can use facing
mirrors to gaze into infinity. Mirrors allows us to participate in the world
in ways that had not been previously possible. They directly expand the
conscious awareness of everyone who uses them. They are used to test the
self awareness of infants and animals. Very few animals recognize themselves
in mirrors and small children do not acquire the ability until they are
about two and half.

As you say, science, time and again, has challenged our understanding of our
assumptions and invited to see the world though brand new eyes. Everyone
from Kant to Kuhn to Pirsig has commented on the fact that Copernicus
re-envisioned our common sense. The Apollo astronauts finally gave us an
empirical view of the world in a way that was previously purely rational.
