dmb:
It seems that you're getting closer to the right idea but then you say
something like, "Static and Dynamic are ways of conceptualizing perceptual
relationships". That's just a contradiction in terms.

[Krimel]
There is no contradiction there. To talk at all we use concepts. Static and
Dynamic are concepts that describe aspects of Quality.

[dmb]
As you just saw in those quotes from the 29th chapter of Lila, "the
immediate flux of life" or the "dynamic and flowing" reality or DQ -
whatever terms you use - is prior to concepts.

[Krimel]
Right Dave, perception precedes conception.

[dmb]
If it's prior to concepts, how can the Dynamic be a way of conceptualizing
anything?

[Krimel]
It is not a way of conceptualizing. It is a concept. Dynamic describes the
"dynamic" flow. It is Quality in flux. Just a SQ is Quality that doesn't
change much.

[dmb]
That would be like saying that the pre-conceptual reality is conceptual.

[Krimel]
Not at all but I think perceptual is a better term than pre-conceptual.
Unless you insist on include in pre-conceptual the what the perception is
derived from sensation. I would be happy to agree to that.

[dmb]
C'mon, you don't need to be a philosopher to see that. It's conspicuously
illogical to say such a thing. The primary empirical reality is Dynamic and
concepts are static. It's that simple. Why should this be difficult or
contentious? You DO understand what "pre" means, right?

[Krimel]
Perception is dynamic alright but once we have them we classify them
conceptually. To do this we use words, especially when we write, like we are
doing now. You do understand that we are using words now right? Well dynamic
and static are words that describe aspects of Quality neither of them can
effectively replace it.
