This idea of a random, meaningless universe ruled by chance is mechanistic, materialistic universe but the MOQ doesn't paint it that way at all. The notion that even subatomic particles express preferences implies that some level of consciousness, however limited, has always been a feature of reality. The process of evolution is guided from within, so to speak. The unfolding of the physical universe as well as the biological, social and intellectual course of evolution proceeds on the basis of quality decisions. It goes all the way down. That's not "God" and that's not random chance either.
