[Arlo] Pointing out you use the same talking points as the talk-radio crowd is hardly "ad hominem". I've been down this road many times, YOU are not the first, Limbaugh and his brethren have been beating the drums of "activist judges" for over a decade. Don't think for one moment that suddenly YOU come along and I'm just afraid to think for myself. I've been over that ground too many times, with too many people to rehash it. YOU want to talk about "legislating from the bench" and all that, then talk about with someone else. It really holds no value for me, a decade ago maybe, today its just tired rhetoric. [Michael] Address the substance of my criticisms, or don't expect me to engage in debate with you on them. [Arlo] I don't want to debate or engage you on them. I crossed that milestone in my life a long time ago. It'd be like bitching about Vietnam protesters being anti-American. [Michael] And I *THINK.* For myself. [Arlo] Right. And anyone who disagrees obviously does NOT. I've heard that for years too. (I mean, that IS what you're implying?...) [Michael] ... and contemplate just sailing around the world, nationless, sticking to the coasts of those that have solid nautical police forces, staying out of the way while Western society tears itself apart from the inside out. [Arlo] People have been predicting the downfall of society since the time of your lord. Every generation has its prophets who can forsee the end of society. Back in the 50's there was a group of people in Indiana that built a town to survive the inevitable fall of western civilization. Today its "illegal immigrants" and a host of others "boogeymen" that (go figure) the talk-radio crowd yells is causing the imminent end of society. I'm a bit more optimistic, tell you what, I'll bet you $100k that when you and I are in our 80s, Western society will still be kicking... immigrants and Muslims and liberals be damned.
