In China they certainly do not have it...you are thrown back onto your
family or village if you happen to lose your capacity to work (temporarily
or permanently).
In most Western countries you are entitled to UB (unemployment benefit) if
you have accrued them through enough years of (continuous) employment
plus,
contributed part of your pay into a UB insurance fund. Otherwise, as you
say, you do not work you do not eat. And if you do not eat you do not shit
and if you don't shit you die!
No tea parties I am afraid. You usually find these in the circles of the
,still continuing,big business bonus cultures.
Which socialist government do you have in mind?
