...but for the most part it was the morality that underpinned the
building of American and the West, making it a fountainhead of freedom
and prosperity.

[Krimel]
Slaughtering people and stealing their land is your idea of morality?

[Platt]
Then the intellectuals took control with their amoral
scientific worldview (SOM) and its been pretty much downhill ever since.

[Krimel]
The rule of America by intellectuals has been spotty and brief. I assume the
intellectuals you mean were Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Hamilton et al. They
were mostly displaced following in Jackson and didn't return until Wilson.
The intellectuals of the Roosevelt era thoughtfully put in place controls
that leveled the cycle of boom and bust but the anti-intellectuals following
Raygun reasserted stupidity as the virtue you most love to expound upon.

[Platt]
Our "slouching toward Gomorrah" is well documented in Pirsig's "Lila," an
original philosophy which has been met by intellectuals with a predictable
lack of enthusiasm because it challenges their faith in politically correct
thinking.

[Krimel]
So you prefer "marching toward Armageddon" with choirs of angels cheering
you to victory over the demons of darkness.

"This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper."
-T.S. Elliot

"My, my, hey, hey...
Rock and Roll is here to stay
It's better to burn out
Than to fade away
My, my, hey, hey..."
-Neil Young
