Hey Otto,

Thanks for the reference. Excellent article by someone who knows from 
first hand experience what he is talking about, not some theoretical egg-
head in an ivory tower. I think the MOQ would be appalled at what passes 
for education these days if for no other reason than its goal -- "to breed and 
train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality" --
smothers responses to Dynamic Quality." That goal is precisely the reason 
for P.C. and university speech codes -- the coercive stifling of opinion -- 
and with it the coercive stifling of Dynamic Quality. (Notice on this site how 
Arlo, an academic, attempts to impose a "correct" way of thinking by 
insulting anyone who strays from his dogma.)

Pirsig wrote an article on how to teach Quality. It's an antidote to the 
disease described by the teacher in the essay you referenced. Sadly I've 
lost the source. Perhaps someone will recall where Pirsig's cure can be 
obtained.
