Hi Marsha, the practice of exercises like mindfulness, preparations, meditations, body awareness, t'ai chi forms, chi gung etc are not the property of any religion - they are simply beneficial things at our disposal if we have experience of them and remember they are available. The Dalai Lama does appear to have a right-on attitude you would expect from someone in his position - he is a great ambassador for Buddhism. I think its more fundamental than either philosophy or religion, its practical alchemy by the moment.
