It sounds to me like you don't know what the debate is really about then. In
terms of political debate it shows the contrast between the two streams of
world politics that dominated the past century. It is about the tension
between the individual and society. It is the struggle between order and
chaos.

Its structure is polar. Platt has staked out a position on the extreme
right. It is Randian. In my view it is a position so extremely
individualistic that the libertarians are wary of it. It is Reaganism.

Hi Krimel and all,

[Joe]
As I walk around outside the house, I feel the world around me is gentler
than I am used to experiencing in my seventy odd years. How can I ride that
feeling into words.

[Joe]
As a singer I am not much into solo work. Rarely am I asked to sing solo.
I prefer to listen, pick up the melody and find a harmony that excites me
and maybe it will sound appropriate. I am more into harmony than discord.
Rarely do I sing the melody line.

[Joe]
imho Pirsig¹s song is that all can participate even though the metaphysical
octave is not easy to reproduce. I don¹t get the impression that he feels
he has sung the last notes of metaphysics. The notes he has embraced feel
like they come from the center of him, and are very exciting. He sets a
high standard!

[Joe]
At this time in history, in the face of annihilation I do not want to be
sitting on a pole. Get me as down to earth as possible. Is the moon ready
to be populated? Is the solar system a model of evolution? How to express
a metaphysical joy? Easiness in expression, perhaps, is one characteristic.

Joe
