Oh, and I forgot to say ...

I do agree with the Krim quoting Santayana that to seek something is
to pre-suppose its existence.
It's not that people don't do that contingently - claiming to be happy
if they and when are show to be wrong - it's that it distorts the
world model people hold whilst doing their seeking.
