Hi Platt,

The physicists are stuck using our s/o language so it is difficult to interpret exactly what they mean when they explain the theories and experiments to non-physicists, but it sounds very much like the standard model of particle physics represents actual independent entities. But at other times it sounds like it's all equations. For instance, there is a possibility if the Higgs Boson is not found the standard model of particle physics may start to fall apart because of the number of infinities that appear in the equations. At the moment, they're assuming its existence. But even within the model as is, there seems to be a lot of manipulation going on to avoid, at all cost, infinities.

Honestly, if it wasn't labeled as Science, it most certainly could be 'scorned' as mysticism.
