Platt to Andre: What we need to add is that the cosmic mind is permeated with Quality and our experience of it comes as a result of Quality events. Without Quality, cosmic consciousness would be impotent and useless, forever devoid of creative power and moral value.
Andre: Yes Platt, you are correct. I was astonished, reading Reanney, that he, at no point, aknowledges Pirsig nor a Quality 'behind' it all. So they have gone their separate paths...Reanney as a microbiologist and Pirsig as the persuer of quality. As mentioned Reanney cites examples Pirsig did as well, to make his point. The scientist within his field and the renegade scientist. The meeting of minds together following different paths. I wonder how R.M.Pirig regards the book. Perhaps Anthony can tell... . Please remember I have taken things out of context ( i.e the flow of the story) and all is metaphor. Reanney stresses this but it is wonderful to see so many similarities. It must be the power of the paradoxes and the liberating quality event giving rise to the creative force as gav said somewhere earlier.
