Speaking of "egoistic selfish desires," Mother Theresa was a shining example. What she did filled her heart with joy...

[Arlo]
One of the more devastating fictions trumpeted by the right.

How do you know her heart was not filled with sorrow seeing so many suffer? Maybe she hated that her life had to spent caring for others rather than lounging on a beach drinking mai tais? Maybe her constant contact with the world's castoffs led her to secretly be consumed by the worst of contempt for humanity?

Aside from this, she did not act out of "egoistic selfish desire", she acted not in her own interests, but she set aside her own wants and needs in order to help others.

By your misguided notion, nothing we do can ever be anything but egoistic. If I run into a burning house to save a baby, it is because such an act makes me feel good. There can never be real "sacrifice", since sacrifice is always done to serve the egoism of the sacrificer. Hell, I bet you'd tell Christians that Jesus did not sacrifice himself, he acted with egoistic selfish desire, because playing a martyr filled his heart with joy. Selfish prick. What a strange and warped world you inhabit. I am happy not to be a part of that.
