"The defect is that subject-object science has no provision for morals."

Thank you for proving my point.

Its amazing how quick evil acerdimics and "SOM scientists" go from being commie, deceitful, anti-liberty, global cabalists to "supported authorities on a subject" when they advance support for conservative ideology...

[Arlo adds]
Poor Dyson, from a lauded authority to an amoral dismissable in one quick soundbite...

Since you also offered Dyson as an "authority" on "global warming" as a "religion", you may also want to let folks know that the reason he criticizes the "obsession" (your quote) on "global warming" is as follows.

"They are horrified to see the obsession with global warming distracting public attention from what they see as more serious and more immediate dangers to the planet, including problems of nuclear weaponry, environmental degradation, and social injustice." (Dyson)

So if you, like Dyson, want the dialogue instead to focus on the dangers of nuclear weaponry, environmental degradation and social injustice, I'm with you.

If instead, as is likely, you're conveniently quoting him out of context as an authority (on one hand) to support conservative ideology, but then dismissing him (on the other) as amoral when he violates the Conservative Orthodoxy, then you only continue to showcase your own foolishness. Expected, of course, but still sad to see.

But if you're dismissing Dyson as an SOM scientist with no provision for morals, then I think we can safely say his claim that "environmentalism" is a "religion" is also dismissable for the same reason.
