Well, I guess I couldn't expect the information gleaned from one class 20
years ago to be an accurate guide for reality, Khaled, so thanks for the
clarification.

Did the Taliban arise out of the Mujahadeen?  Or were their roots from a
completely different segment of Afghan society?

I must say that either way I cannot picture any good reason for US
involvement in Afghanistan, other than along the lines advocated by a group
I heard speak lately on my local community radio station, a group of Afghani
students who argued for an end to US occupation and war.
