Oh yes. I'd say language is the only social pattern that intellectual patterns really requires.

Take the Rosetta stone for example. Before that, egyptian hieroglyphs was just drawings, they didn't mean anything to us because we didn't have the language to support the intellectual patterns hidden there.

But with the Rosetta stone, all that changed, we could re-create the language and with that, also the intellectual patterns of all other hieroglyphs found.

All intellectual patterns are supported by some language.

On a hard drive.
In the memory of a computer.
In this mail.
On a piece of paper.
In out brains.
Everywhere!
