dmb said to Krimel:
Like the classic-romantic split or the static-dynamic distinction, the idea is
to include them both. The idea is to integrate reason and the affective domain
to produce an expanded and improved form of rationality.

Krimel replied:
Who has disputed this?

dmb says:
You did. I was disputing what you said right after you said it. This is what
you said:

[Krimel]
I was not disputing that a balance was need or desirable but I would argue that
it was not acheived and that in the past the balance was heavily tilted toward
emotions.

[dmb]
I say "integrate" where you say "sublimate", "inhibit", "override", "stop" and
"subordinate". See the difference? That means there is a dispute.

[Krimel]
Most of the retreat from emotions was retreat from the negative emotions and a
recognition that even positive emotions left unchecked can lead us astray.
Contemporary research suggests that one of the primary functions of
consciousness and reason is inhibitory. Free won't versus free will.

[dmb]
Idiot.

[Krimel]
Fuck-head!
