Adrie and Dan, First off, let me clear up some misconception. I'm not looking for sympathy or solutions here. I relish the outworking of my own problems, that's what life's about, after all. I feel sorrier for others, trapped in narrow ways of looking and offer my own divergent experience to point out that there are options in life - that there's more than one way to see and relate to a given set of circumstances. Since there are options, we can ask ourselves "which is best".
You'd think that wouldn't be such a hard-sell in a forum that is grounded in the MoQ, but evidently it is. Second off, speaking of fiction, Adrie's Flemish "accent" sure seem to waver in and out a lot, doncha think? Thirdly, I've given notice before and since, that part of my participation here revolves around the desire to discuss applying the MoQ to real life and that I had a friend with whom I'd discuss these things but he was alienated from me at one time by his participation on this list, and dmb's low opinion of me before he even had "met" me. So when I say "dave started it" - I'm talking valid gripe here. But regardless of history, I'm always willing to drop grudges and move on to a new relationship if a new opportunity or evolving social quality seems to indicate that it would be good to do so. I'm a believer in openness, through and through. That means not only being open about myself and who I am, but being open to whom I'm becoming. Fourthly, "hijacking the forum" seems a pretty odd way of putting it, in my opinion. It implies some kind of force. In order to hijack in real life, you need a gun or a knife at somebody's throat, whereas the only kind of force that keeps us going, who participate in this list, is desire. You can't hijack desire. fifthly, if I hadn't been encouraged to do so, at various times, I wouldn't have participated much. So while you can't hijack desire, you can certainly murder it.
