[Mark] Steve, If the universe means everything that exists, how can we conceive of parallel universes? I am all for simplifying the definitions in this forum to something manageable. I think a better definition would be everything that exists that we can ultimately touch. In this way, there are many things outside the universe. Where do you think black holes open up to? Perhaps we are in such a black hole, I believe this has been calculated, but I forget the result. And of course it is all conjecture; maybe a grant had to be fulfilled somewhere.
