Emotions are socially generated responses to biological quality, to social quality and intellectual quality. They are realized intellectually AND physio-chemically and since some people think that's "biology" there's no arguing. I could equally say that "in the MoQ, intellect is a biological response to quality" because it's contained in my physio-chemical brain. But I think that would be a bit reductionistic, explaining complexity in terms of chemicals. The biological organism FEELS emotion, but the sociality of the man creates it. > > And, yes John, I do understand it is a bit of an inverse back flip but so > was the idea of the earth as a sphere, not to mention it circling around the > sun instead of the other way around. > > Well, I realize that for some people, this disagreement is settled with "See annotation 141". But if Galileo had listened to authority rather than his own heart/mind, we'd all probably be in a pickle, eh?
