Hi John, I think Wallace explains in the 2nd part that you will not be asked to stop your thoughts, but to become mindful of them, or be able to take a rest from them now and then. Mindfulness is to be aware of what are thinking as a participator, not lost to thought where your thoughts are riding you. It's quite wonderful. But not to worry, it is not so easy to make it a new habit. At least it hasn't been for me. Even so, a few minutes here and there throughout the day is a treasure.
