I think a static pattern of value can best be defined as being the opposite
from everything it is not, in other words the definition is very general and
inclusive.

dmb says:
There she goes again, torturing the english language. And yikes, this time
she's even reversing the definition of the word "definition". Unbelievable!

definition |ˌdefəˈni sh ən|noun1 a statement of the exact meaning of a word,
esp. in a dictionary.• an exact statement or description of the nature, scope,
or meaning of something : our definition of what constitutes poetry.• the
action or process of defining something.2 the degree of distinctness in outline
of an object, image, or sound, esp. of an image in a photograph or on a
screen.• the capacity of an instrument or device for making images distinct in
outline : [in combination ] high-definition television.

In reply, Dan asked Marsha:
But not precise?

dmb says:
If she admits that words, concepts and ideas have specific meanings and
therefore need to be handled with precision, then by logical extension she
would have to admit that a person can be wrong, that some interpretations are
good and right while others are not. I suspect that's the motive behind her
brand of relativism. I guess she thinks it's liberating.
