Ron said: Indeed, mostly because you all [Marsha, Bo and Platt] take SOM to be the intellectual level. This equates to the intellectual level having a major flaw. This explains the revolt against all percieved patterns of static quality.
dmb says: That's right. Marsha has also recently said that language is a kind of prison and she has often said that conceptualization reifies, which would mean that all concepts are inherently erroneous. When you add it all up this is a profoundly anti-intllectual cocktail. It also happens to be convoluted nonsense, but the attitude is unmistakable. It's hostile, hateful and paranoid. It's the kind of egotistical bullshit that comes out of low self-esteem, wherein the self-righteous one is too important and enlightened and holy to bother with conventional illusions like "words", "concepts", "evidence", "reason", "coherence" and "making sense". No, that stuff is just for philosophers and the other kinds of low-life scum. Can't be bothered with the merely mortal because fancy-pants, special, special me is above all that. See my halo? Yea, I guess that sort of pose is convenient if you're not quite up to the task of actually making sense. Who knows, maybe someday, somebody will be foolish even to confuse this anti-intellectual puke with some sort of wisdom. Anything's possible. But I, for one, ain't buying it. It's bullshit. It's nonsense. It's neither serious nor even honest. It's not something a healthy person does, for Pete's sake! This drivel doesn't even comport with the dictionary! It is wholly without merit. Ron: I think RMP really does alot of service in regard to understanding this sort of behaviour, this kind of willfull psychosis. That they are struggling with the static patterns of their own lives. Question he asks, does one come back and work it out dynamically, or do you stay in pyschosis, do you shoot right for dynamic quality. We must ask ourselves as Pragmatists and subscribers to RMP, is this better? I can only speak from my own experience and what I understand of what Bob Pirsig means by "lila's story is everyones story". But I think the useful thing to do, the Quality thing, is to use that experience to work our lives out of gumption traps and rigid thinking. Use it as a source of a type of cleansing, but not to even have that dominate your life, that is a type of degeneracy of its own. whats that zen saying? first you wash with it, then you wash it off. =================== Moq_Discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org/md/archives.html
