Reminds me that "free-will" is best thought of as "free-won't" after Dennett and Wegner. http://www.psybertron.org/?p=1192 Thought of that way free-will is exactly what it appears to be - and totally non-contentious I'd say - like consciousness itself ;-) Decision-making to act is hugely complex - the conscious thinking part of it just happens to be tiny, conscious emotion is another part, but subconscious animalian activity is another even larger part. (Hence anomalies like Libet, etc.) Conscious emotion is one of those McGilchrist right-left-right patterns, takes two hemispheres (and a body with legs) to tango.
