Nietzsche foresaw all kinds of things - including, in the early 1880s, a change in physics coming. He wrote that materialism would be supplanted and a new energy-physics would arise that did away with "the reduction to terms of maximal stupidity" he saw in Newtonian inertial materialism. He got a lot of it from Boscovich's pioneering field theory - a most interesting thinker everyone should check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ru%C4%91er_Bo%C5%A1kovi%C4%87 , whom Tesla touted as a predecessor of Einstein.
