Matt: Indeed, but I guess I have more confidence that talking is a medium that does supply things that we can take to our own experienced lives, and that talking through some of these problems helps the rubber meet the road. I take it that that's what Dewey meant by "reflection" and "inquiry," and the general utility of "indirect experience" for "direct experience."
