Steve:
Certainly the there are an inexhaustible number of true claims to make
in any situation, but do you mean something more than that in your
phrase "more than one truth"? Are you suggesting that true claims can
contradict one another?  It is possible that common usage of the word
"true" will evolve to allow for contradictory truth claims to coexist.
You seem to be willing to bite the relativism bullet in that respect,
but I believe we can maintain the notion that truths aren't supposed
to contradict one another without reverting to SOM simply by
maintaining truth and justified beliefs as distinguishable concepts by
maintaining the cautionary usage of "truth" where we say things like,
"you are justified in believing that now, but it may not be true.
i.e., We may determine later that it isn't good to believe that after
all."
