Hi MRB,
I agree with you. The act of creating words is DQ in action. We have no
idea how we do this. This brings DQ closer to our reality than simply
something "out there" which we will never know. We know DQ every second of
our lives, there is no escaping it.

A world of static quality has been surmised by the intellect. This SQ is
used as an intellectual barrier to distance DQ. However, this barrier is
full of holes. For example SQ cannot be used to describe SQ. By way of
example, a math equation cannot describe what math is. One must step
outside of math to describe it. The trap which is set by some in MOQ is
that we cannot step outside of SQ. This then becomes a paradox which is
self fulfilling. The holes in this form of argument show many ways to get
out of it. The act of doing something without first thinking about it, is
one such hole. Once that present tense is seen as DQ, then one is free.
We have never been bound by SQ, for such a thing is simply a self imposed
prison.

Sometimes it takes a while to tear down the walls that one has built, but
MoQ provides a way. Once the concept of "the ghost of reason" is fully
incorporated into daily life, SQ loses its hold on one's life and can be
held at arms length. This is following DQ, and observing the wake it
leaves. This is Quality Awareness that Pirsig tries so desperately to
describe. MOQ seeks to describe such a thing since it is the metaphysics
of Quality Awareness. Such a description will never replace Quality, but
we all know that so we do not get trapped by the words.

Cheers,
Mark
