I can make the argument that my 'translation' is better than Pirsig's (I won't here), but I'm not pretending that my 'interpretation' is really what he meant to say (or that my interpretation saves him from himself). To do this, I have read his words. I do understand them. And I reject them in lieu of something better. You seem to be confusing deconstructionist relativism with disagreement.
