You're interested not in the quality of what I'm saying but only in the logic
of what I'm saying and this is where you're missing my point. Your view
seems so very narrow when you say you're only interested in looking at
someone's static intellectual values and the logic they use and *not*
intellectually discussing *all* of their values. You even go so far as to say
that these values are 'vague and useless'. The problem with this view though -
is that it completely ignores the biological, social, cultural and Dynamic
values which folks have. As I've explained - these values actually *shape* our
view of what makes sense intellectually. This is confirmed time and again by
Pirsig .. Here's another example.. "Even the facts that people observe to
confirm the 'truth' are dependent on the culture they live in." - Lila

Dude, you're the one who keeps harping on logic. As I've said repeatedly, logic
only becomes an issue when somebody is being contradictory, inconsistent or
incoherent. Apparently, you'd like to spin that into some kind of Platonism or
hyper-logical worldview. But I'm really not a big fan of logic. Probably would
have studied analytic philosophy if I were into that but my degree is in the
Humanities. I took exactly one half of a logic class thirty years ago - and
found it quite boring. I mean, if you knew me at all you'd realize how
ridiculous it is to try to paint me as some kind of logic freak. But I do like
to complain about nonsense. And I think your case for "values" is vague and
useless nonsense.

And your "example" from Pirsig might make some sense if Marsha were from some
other time or culture but she's not. I really don't think there is any
important cultural difference about Connecticut such that she'd observe
different facts than I would in Michigan or Colorado. Same language, same time,
same culture, same country, roughly the same age. No, David. I think you're
totally misconstruing things - especially if you think each of us can have our
own logic or our own definitions. I've tried to be polite about it but you're
not taking the hint. So let me be frank. I think your point is just plain
stupid. I really don't care to hear it again. Okay? Give it a rest. You are
being quite obnoxious.
