On Aug. 31 Marsha asks Andre: Do you have an intelligent question to ask?
Andre: In response to this slither I posed 9 (!) questions. Marsha's response was: 'I suggest you take your fantasies to a good friend or a professional as I am not qualified to take them seriously enough to provide a comment.' This is slither nr 10. The first 7 I identified as: 1) whisked off as self-opinionated hyperbole (and leave it like that) 2) a retort along the lines of 'I didn't say I agree with it/don't agree with it (and leave it at that) 3) it's only a quote (and leave it like that) 4) I'm only investigating (and leave it like that) 5) whatever you say (and leave it like that) 6) I don't know anything (and leave it like that) 7) you present another question (and leave it like that) Nr 8: you're presenting gossip (and leave it at that) Nr 9: your question does not meet my intellectual standards (and leave it at that) And now nr 10: it's not serious enough (and leave it like that). I'm sure that she'll come up with others but wonder whether this type of behaviour is accepted as a 'ligitimate response' (as she herself claims) on a discussion site such as this. Many posters put a lot of time, effort and energy into formulating a post and the only response Marsha usually gives is a one-line variation on the 10 ways of slithering out of a decent and reasonable response. It is obvious she doesn't have a response but I find this type of practice one of the most blatant gumption traps I encounter here. She does not share, does not engage in explorations and discussions, does not exchange views or intellegent ideas but instead seems only to inflate her own ego by presenting quotes she doesn't understand properly herself. Simply ignoring her is difficult because then you'd have to ignore 75percent of the space on this site. And I do not come here for 75 percent wasted digital space. There must be some other means and I suggest a ban for at least 3 months on contributing. Time for her to read ZMM and LILA and learn some stimulating, constructive written discussion skills. Her present behavious is enough to make one unsubscribe.
