[Platt proves it] Those "pipes" ought to be outlawed. If my car made as much noise, I'd be arrested. Why motorcycles are given a pass is an outrage. Talk about fairness! [Arlo] Are you in favor of banning smoking in public? If you think hearing my pipes is outrageous, why on earth should I have to breathe in other people's stink!! Or, what about when my neighbor BBQs? Why should I have to be subjected to this odor? Or when the little league team up the hill practices, when I want to sit in my comfy, quiet house... should I be able to silence them? What about my neighbor who cuts wood with his chainsaw? [Platt] Besides, the noise pollution is a disgrace to civilized society, interfering with the right to privacy and disturbing the peace. [Arlo] And I think air pollution via smoking is a disgrace, and my neighbor's BBQ interferes with my right to privacy (or is it only sounds and not smells that incur the wrath of stuffy conservatives?)
