> So what's new?
Poot has provided more raw data with charts and
stuff.
One chart that is interesting is the "Global
distribution of large stationary sources of CO2"
chart. It is the second one on the list. It shows
CO2 sources. Notice how the CO2 sources are found in
heavily populated regions of the world, not in green
places.
A second chart called "Indicators of the human
influence on the atmosphere" shows four charts that
reflect elemental spikes found in the atmosphere all
double almost triple the amount higher than any other
time recorded. Yes, all show a recent high spike.
A third chart called "Comparison of temperature
change between model and observation" shows what the
projected models for temp. were and how the observed
changes have correlated with the models. Projections
have been relatively accurate.
A fourth chart called "Comparison between GDP and
CO2 emissions for selected countries" shows how GDP
for the U.S. and Japan has risen even though CO2
emissions have declined. The former Soviet Union GDP
and CO2 emissions go together, but I do know from what
my wife's mother said from her brief visit in St.
Petersburg.
She went sponsored by a program I believe is
called the Peoples Ambassadors Program where different
job backgrounds have been exchanged between varying
countries since the early to mid-1900's. She was
asked to go representing math teachers. St.
Petersburgh is supposed to be the best representation
of Russia for educational purposes. The educational
programs are not near what the U.S. offers she said.
The best students can still compete at the highest
levels in the world, but overall education is not
deemed highly valuable. The $ going into the
educational programs is very low. For instance, a
vendor she talked to in the streets said he was going
to be a biology teacher, but decided against it
because he could make much more $ from vending little
trinkets in the streets than as a teacher. I'm going
by her experience and chats with locals and others
from the U.S. that went along. Russia, at least back
to the beginnings of the former Soviet Union, has not
been about expanding GDP, so cultural constraints are
in place.

> What about the motives of the supporters of global
warming? All
> pure of heart and mind? Yeah, right. Glad to see you
admit, however, > that global warming is
controversial.
Of course it is controversial by sides being
divided over the issue. What are the motives of the
supporters of global warming? I can only speak for
myself thoroughly on this issue. I just like the
woods, the animals, and value clean water, air, and
fishing holes.

> I wonder if you'll ever ever answer how you choose
accurate sources.
Well, we've gone through a step by step process
together on this. First, we had to find sources.
Secondly, we had to read the sources. Thirdly, we
need to look at the available data, which Poot has
provided. The next step might be to actually get
involved in the scientific process and collect data or
listen to a debate by scientists that are for and
those against global warming being human caused.
These scientists would have to provide data to support
their arguments.
This is why science sprouted from philosophy. To
rid arguments, by collecting actual data in the field.
Since I don't go into the field, and I've been given
the opportunity to learn how to read charts and
understand some of the scientific jargon, then I can
get a glimpse for myself at what scientists are saying
and decide for myself. To only rely on what
scientists and politicians are saying is helpful, but
take a look at the same charts and data that those
coming up with these interpretations are seeing. As
more people get involved in understanding the field
data, and if more data needs collected and all the
possible avenues that influence this global warming
have been covered, then the arguments are supported by
data from many avenues and this makes the source(s)
more reliable. This is just a brief overview of the
scientific process and thoughtful process of a layman.
thanks.
