And I have to laugh" -- you want liberty for the academy but not for the rest of us. [Arlo] I answered your question in my first sentence. Tenure, for good or bad, protects faculty. I want liberty for us all. Where did I say that otherwise? I said, twice, I found the debacle surrounding the Duke case deplorable. But, as I've said twice, lynch mobs with pitchforks are a common part of our American culture.
