Did you deliberately omit Pirsig?

It was not totally deliberate. Are you suggesting I have not been clear
enough often enough about my disagreement with him on this point? But if
this is intended as an argument from authority on your part it is still
lame.

I was unaware that Pirsig made any such distinction..right off the top
o'me head ..
He had said Quality was responsible for everything, every last bit.
Which  he terms
Quality as a "Value" set. He said that SOM falls prey to a priori
concepts of 
Pre-intellectual simplification. We see pattern and form because that is
what our
Brain does, to know this and place more focus on experience and avoid
the SOM
Pre-conception gumption traps, is the cornerstone of MOQ or so I
interpret.
Having said this, to assume Pirsig means "Value" and "betterness" termed
as
Meaning to lead to an  end or begininng or any other Pre-concieved ideal
in
My opinion seems to be a bit of a misinterpretation of his message.
