[Ron]
Objective reality is ever changing and mostly impossible to fully
percieve much less retain and still function. I have come to the
conclusion that our awareness is limited just as much by our
preconceptions as it is by our ability to perceive phenomena.

[Case]
Actually this ability to form conceptions that allow us to filter out
what is irrelevant seems to me to be one of our superpowers. It does not
limit our awareness so much as let us focus on higher probabilities by
ignoring all the remote possibilities.

I see this a lot when introducing some people to the alien world of
computers. I notice them pointing at things that are obviously
irrelevant, ads and silly menu items, pictures and links to pop-up
websites. Teaching them how to navigate in the strange new world is as
much a matter of teaching them what to ignore as what to attend to.

[Ron]
It most certainly is a super power, I did not mean "limit" as "inhibit"
but as what we are
able to percieve. Fact is we do it and our perception is shaped by it.
Along with exaggeration
And condensing.
