As a generality that may be true, within a given level at least, and
with a bit more understanding - but we cannot ignore the levels. eg
The biological values of an individual can be overruled by the social
values of the collective. The social values of the individual can be
overruled by the intellectual values of the collective, etc ...

The aspect of this argument I keep trying to introduce is that we have
an ongoing confusion between the individual-collective axis and the
intellectual-social axis. It's very hard to separate the social from
the collective, and, my main agenda, it also follows that we have
trouble drawing clean lines even between the social and intellectual.
Unfortunately as soon as someone starts to talk about anything
collective, you start your evil mis-representation of people's
positions on the subject.

There is a serious debate to be had here.
