[Micah] So valuing human life and liberty for all is not possible? How and why?
[Arlo] I'm sorry, I think you're taking one comment out of context. When I say "limiting freedom" I refer to restrictions on things such as "murder" or "rape". We limit these freedoms to achieve greater freedoms. Public libraries, in another example, allows us to use taxation to create an infrastructure where the most people can have access to the most information. That is maximizing freedom for the greatest number. As for valuing human life, as I've said at every turn I certainly do think we can envision a "society" that values all human life. But the social Darwinists have been hacking against that for years. moq_discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
