Ian Glendinning stated June 3rd: Ah great, thanks Ant - I'd given up wondering where part 2 had got to ;-)
(The acronyms explained in the second part are helpful to read the first part, unless you have the right inside knowledge.) Ant McWatt comments: The acronym table has now been put in Part One of the e-copy of Andrew's thesis just to make it all easier to follow. It's also worth mentioning that I referred to the original hardcopy as I went along when formatting the html documents for Part Two and the latest version of Part One. There were some places in the scanned version of Part One where the original meaning deviated considerably from the hardcopy (e.g. SONY Series instead of SUNY Series!) so I would advise re-reading it before going onto Part Two. Ian Glendinning continued June 3rd: As well as the Whitehead / Pirsig comparison in Sneddon, we have the Whitehead / Quantum / Holochory connections in a number of places - I think it was David pointed out Shimon Malin after we'd been discussing the first part of the Sneddon paper. The "great convergence" continues. Ant McWatt comments: In addition there's also the F.S.C. Northrop-Whitehead connection. They evidently met during the 1920s and Whitehead is mentioned in Northrop's last text (published in 1985). Best wishes, Anthony www.robertpirsig.org . _________________________________________________________________ Play your part in making history - Email Britain! http://www.emailbritain.co.uk/ moq_discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
