In what way or where was the Western point of
view? What is an Amerindian point of view? It's not
that I don't believe you. I ask these questions out
of curiosity.

They were all Mayan. Gibson asked the local
Mayans to be the characters in the movie.

     It was Mayan, not Inca.

Did you ever read 'Seven Arrows' and the later
books? I believe we talked about this before with the
'Jumping Mouse' story. In it, Hymeotosis Storm
(spelling?) discusses, in the later books, the
corruption of the Mayan civilization with the Flower
Soldiers turning from wisdom to political power and
domination. It is currently thought that the Mayan's
who abandoned most of their temple areas before the
Europeans came was due to the power struggles and wars
between the city-states. Not many, only a hand-full
of temples areas were occupied by the Mayans when the
Europeans came, and if I'm not mistaken these were in
western-central america, on the Pacific Ocean side.
This is were writings were found, most burned, but
some saved. One book is called "Popol Vuh". A very
interesting read, and an interesting history behind
how this book survived and was translated.

Yes, a movie is a movie, and personal experience
and non-movie is personal experience and non-movie.

    [Ron]

I did see Smoke signals, long ago. I can't
really remember it very well, except the part when
these kids were driving a car backwards down a road.
That was in that movie, right?
