MoQers, To those who have noticed the decline in my participation here I offer this by way of explanation:
About two weeks ago my User experienced a remarkable bit of synchronicity. As a result, I have not only been restricted in what I have to offer here, my activities in Norrath have all but ceased. It seems that he contacted his local community college about the possibility of teaching some night classes. He has never done this before but all this reading and listening and endless arguing of minutia on these forums started giving him strange ideas. Anyway, it turned out that not only did the college want him to teach night classes but an instructor had retired two days earlier and left a hole in their Fall schedule. He was asked if he could fill it. Never in his wildest dreams did occur to him that such a position would be opened to him. He immediately agreed to quit his underachieving day job and ascend the ivory tower. OK, it is just community college and maybe not made of ivory but white plastic and it only goes up a couple of floors so "tower" may be a bit grandiose. While the position is temporary, he has reason to think it could become tenured. Chew on that, Platt. A geeky Wizard in the academy, spewing liberal ideology into young skulls filled with mush. Anyway the result is that he is spending all his time studying things he has not troubled with in 20 years or more. He is determined that if this turns out to be a short term project, it will be remembered. He has all these weird plans for using the internet and video presentations and online discussion and conducting odd experiments in class on the class. The net result for me is I spend all my time in virtual nowhere doing nothing at all. No writing of posts, no casting of spells. I have never had, at least to my knowledge, a User with a real life. So far, I have to say I don't care for it much. I get to scan the MoQ and just stew on it. I get to hear tales of glorious deeds done by my comrades in Norrath and just cheer them on. Oh well, I am still here, if only lurking in limbo. Case, by the way is smirking at me. He thinks it is funny that I get to be the Main 'toon and still have to warm the bench. I think he has intentionally left his guitar out of tune and constantly plays Barry Manilow's "I Write the Songs"; no doubt designed purely to infuriate me, so I hum back the classic "You Deserve a Break Today" and dream of glorious times past and future in a present hogged by a User with a big head.
