[Platt]
I favor whatever decision the Supreme Court makes. Otherwise, anarchy.

[Arlo]
Nice dodge. Do you, or do you not, think that interracial marriage
should be decided by the states?

[Platt]
Are you in favor of the Supreme Court striking down current state
marriage laws to allow gay marriage?

[Arlo]
Sure.

[Arlo had asked]
You seem pretty vocal that gay marriage would contribute to the
(further) degeneration of society. Do you believe interracial
marriage has as well?

[Platt]
Not sure. Possibly.

[Arlo]
Thank you for being honest.

If you are against gay marriage because it would further degenerate
society, does this mean you are personally opposed to interracial
marriage as well? On the same basis.

[Platt]
Nonsense. Out-of- wedlock births, prostitution, pornography,
violence, drugs, profane language, discipline, upholding the law are
behaviors AS A RESULT of weakened moral codes. Behaviors are NOT
codes. Where is your brain?.

[Arlo]
Fair enough. Then you are implying that things such as these would be
the _result_ of gay marriage.

But let's take a look at your comment again.

"I think the effects are more subtle than that. When "marriage" comes
to mean something other than socially approved union of a man and
women, another moral code of society is weakened. For example, we
have seen over the years a weakening of codes regarding
out-of-wedlock births, prostitution and pornography, violence,
drugs, profane language, discipline, upholding the law, etc., etc.,
all of which undermine the bonds that hold a society together."

You are directly associating the "weakening of moral codes" that
comes from "gay marriage" with similar "weakening of codes" (your
words) "regarding out-of-wedlock births, prostitution and
pornography, violence, drugs, profane language..."

I've said my peace. This is a direct, atrocious rhetorical
association. Keep denying it. The evidence is right there in that sentence.

[Arlo had said]
I know, the great beacon of "freedom" wants everyone to be "free"
to be like him, nothing more.

[Platt]
I'd rather everyone be free like me than free like Marxist you.

[Arlo]
Yeah, I know. When all else fails "Arlo is a commie". Oddly, I
support freedoms for people that leads to them leading lives that are
different from mine. If you call that "Marxism", be my guest. But it
sure as hell beats "free to be just like Platt". Yes, it's quite
convenient to be all for "freedom", when coincidentally all the
things that people should be free to do are just the things you choose to do.

[Platt]
On June 12, a memorial in Washington to the 100 million Victims of
Communism was dedicated. ("Victims" means "those who died under the
yoke of " in case you try to distort what it means.)

[Arlo]
If you can show me one post where I've denied the brutal savagery of
regimes that called themselves "communist", or denied that where not
millions of innocent victims of these regimes....

While you look, I stand by my assertion that none of these regimes
was "communist" in any sense envisioned by Marx. Instead, they fell
prey to similar neoconservative thinking that strong state
nationalism, unyielding patriotism and "holy war" mentality was
needed to subjugate the flock.

By the way, gays could not marry in Stalinist Russia, or Pol Pot's
Cambodia either.
