EXACTLY! Well said. The battle of the views can
easily be perceived to be just a battle of
superiority.

However, I strive to see my commitment to
intellectual values of logic, rules of argumentation,
rigor, empirical evidence, etc. overcome both the
internal urge to avoid challenges to my worldview
through avoidance, denial, & self-delusion that this
self-serving desire produces, as well as channel any
emotional energy aroused by the disagreement to
constructive ends.
Keith has figured out a way to handle different
perspectives, at least has an attempt. For that join
this site and leave due to 1 person - those people
that leave I just don't understand, 1 person, 1
person, come on now!
