that is so good to hear.I really had no idea exactly what you were all refering to - or to what extent and certainly did not want to say anything that was hurtful as far as anyone's program. I am certain that given what you say about the program you are using the children are very fortunate to be exposed to such multicultural material and have the opportunity for self-exploration as well. Now I need to find out if AR is "Active Reading"? In Canada we have "AYR" Active Young Readers... - we usually refer to it when discussing the "Time to Learn" documentation... which mandates how much time should be devoted to each subject (content area) per day/ per grade level.
