Reflecting on this past year, I wonder if I went deep enough with my students
regarding reading strategies. I would love to discuss how to take this deeper
for third, fourth, and fifth grade students.

My seconds from last year did wonderfully, we saw the largest gains in our
school with them - every student improved at least 30% over the previous year.
(This was measured in the fall of '06 and compared with their scores from the
fall of '05.) I'm convinced it's because I used the strategies from MOT and STW
as well as suggestions from this list.

I'm wondering now if I did enough with my fourths this year, and I'd like to
make sure I do better next year.

Is there anyone out there who teaches this age range who really took their
kids deep into the strategies? What did you do? What would you suggest I do?

  Thanks
